Speech
(Grandparents 50th weeding aniversary)
Hello,
my name is Aramis Ilyasov, Grandson of Vladimir and Tatiana, and
welcome to our celebration of 50 years of marriage between Vladimir
and Tatiana.
Grandpa
chose me to talk during this dinner because he says I’m the best
grandchild he could have had. He always calls me kotonok.
I
have no idea what that means, but I am taking it as a compliment.
Enough
about me. The real reason why we are here is to celebrate the 50th
wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Ilya .
50
years! That is a long time for two people to be together. In fact,
this type of longevity is almost unheard of in modern times. This is
a testament to their long lasting love and devotion.
To
see how they made it this far, let me give you some insight into how
things came to be.
Vladimir
grew up in Ekaterimbutgo, back in a time where it was safe to drive
through the neighborhood with your windows down. Tatiana grew up in
the town of “Sarechni”, on a farm that is now a high school and a
housing development.
I
wish you always the best and I hope you never change.
